The Pizza That Doesn't Leave the Kitchen Behind

Most restaurants that add pizza to their takeout menu treat it as an afterthought. The dining room comes first, and to-go orders get whatever’s left. At Vito’s it works the other way. Vito’s pizza is to-go only, which means every pie out of the kitchen is made for someone who called ahead and wants it hot. If you’re looking for pizza to go in San Jose that tastes like it came from a restaurant kitchen, this is it.
When takeout pizza is an afterthought, it tastes like one. When it’s the point, it doesn’t.
What Goes into a Vito’s Pizza
Vito’s has been on Skyport Drive since 2003. The pizza comes out of the same kitchen and uses the same ingredients as everything else on the menu. That’s not a marketing line. It just means we’re not keeping two sets of standards.
The specialty pies are worth knowing by name. The Combination brings bell pepper, sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, and black olives together on a crust built to carry them. The St. Christopher pairs chicken and pesto with roasted peppers and Kalamata olives. Anthony’s All Meat Special stacks pepperoni, sausage, ham, and salami, no apologies. The L’Alberto keeps it focused: sausage, mushrooms, and black olives. The Vegetarian keeps it simple: mushrooms, black olives, peppers, tomato, and onion.
The Famous Cheese Pizza earns its spot. A plain cheese pie has nowhere to hide. If the sauce is off or the crust isn’t right, you know immediately. Ours holds up.
Build Your Own
If none of the specialties are quite what you want, the topping list is long: pepperoni, mushroom, sausage, olives, peppers, salami, ham, onion, pineapple, eggplant, garlic, tomato, artichoke, extra cheese, jalapenos, and sun-dried tomatoes. Pick what sounds good.
Three Sizes
Pizzas come in Medium (14”), Grande (16”), and X-Large (18”). Specialty pies, the Famous Cheese, and standard toppings are all priced by size. Check the current menu at myvitos.com for pricing.
A Medium is right for one person or a light lunch for two. The Grande or X-Large handles a group without turning into a whole production.
Good Lunch Option If You Work Nearby
If your office is anywhere in the North First corridor, Vito’s is close. Call it in, pick it up during the lunch window, and skip the usual chain pizza run. The pizza holds up on the drive back because the crust and toppings are made to work together, not engineered for shelf life.
